Wednesday, 9 August, 2023 R Thyagarajan, the Founder of Chennai-based Shriram Group who has given away all his shareholdings in the group worth over ₹6,200 crore to a group of employees, doesn't own a mobile phone, Bloomberg reported. Thyagarajan considers mobile phones a "distraction". The 86-year-old tycoon's Shriram Group began as a chit-fund business in 1974 and later entered the lending and insurance businesses.
