Rabies vaccine should only be given in shoulder or thigh: Doctors

Rabies is nearly 100 per cent fatal once symptoms begin, but timely vaccination after an animal bite can prevent it. Doctors warn the rabies vaccine must be given in the shoulder or thigh - never the buttocks - as improper injection into fatty tissue can reduce effectiveness and require restarting the vaccination process.
