Railways announced design changes in non-AC local trains following the death of four people after they fell off a crowded train near Mumbai on Monday. The doors will now have louvres, and coaches will have roof-mounted ventilation units for fresh air. The coaches will have vestibules to allow inter-coach passenger movement. The first such train will be ready by November.
