Railways approves ₹122 cr for Barbil-Bolanikhadan rail doubling

Indian Railways has approved ₹122 crore for doubling the 6-km Barbil-Bolanikhadan section in Odisha under South Eastern Railway. The project is expected to accommodate an additional 8.9 million tonnes of freight traffic annually and reduce train delays. The existing single-line stretch handles around 9 MTPA, mainly transporting iron ore from SAIL’s Bolani mines to steel plants and ports.
