The Railways has earned an additional revenue of around ₹2,242 crore in 2022-23 after it suspended the concession offered in railway ticket prices to senior citizens, an RTI response has found. The Railways said that it didn't offer concessions to almost eight crore senior citizens between April 1, 2022-March 31, 2023. The concessions were put on hold since March 2020.
