Railways okays ₹990 crore projects to boost connectivity in Maha

Indian Railways has approved 2 projects worth ₹990 crore to strengthen passenger and freight connectivity. The ₹493-crore Mukutban-Gadchandur new line will support 6.08 MTPA freight traffic & provide a shorter route for coal, cement and other commodities. The ₹497-crore Chouk-Karjat doubling project is expected to add 18.35 MTPA freight capacity and five passenger trains per direction daily.
