Citing safety reasons, railways have decided to remove curtains put on pathways of all air-conditioned three-tier coaches of trains, but the curtains from windows will continue. This decision was taken on recommendation of Commissioner of Railways Safety following its enquiry into causes of 2013’s fire in Bangalore-Nanded Express train, which killed at least 26 people.
