According to reports, General Electric (GE) and Alstom are likely to get an approval for their first major rail project worth about ₹40,000 crore for setting up of diesel and electric locomotive factories in Bihar. US major GE is expected to manufacture 1,000 locomotives while the French company Alstom would manufacture 800 electric locomotives over the next 11 years.
