Rajasthan government dismissed BJP councillor Somya Gurjar as the Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation mayor following a judicial inquiry that found her guilty of assaulting former commissioner Yagya Mitra Singh Deo. Gurjar has also been debarred from re-election for a period of six years. "The mayor's expulsion...three councillors earlier...due to political animosity," the deputy mayor said.
