Late PM Rajiv Gandhi worked as a professional pilot with domestic carrier Indian Airlines before becoming a politician. After his younger brother's death in a plane crash in 1980, he joined politics and went on to become the youngest PM aged 40 after his mother Indira's assassination. Rajiv was killed in suicide bombing in Tamil Nadu on May 21, 1991.
