The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) has discovered a unique mud-nesting frog in Arunachal Pradesh that builds its own "house" by creating underground nests in leaf-littered forest floors. Named Limnonectes motijheel, after Motijheel Lake in Namdapha Tiger Reserve, it measures 2.3-3.5 cm. The species is also distinguished by a fanged jaw and highlights the region’s rich amphibian diversity.
