Rare leopard gecko identified for first time in Bihar

A new species of gecko was identified in the Kaimur hills, Bihar. Named Eublepharis jhuma, this reptile was discovered by researchers at the Zoological Survey of India and Wildlife Institute of India. It is the first leopard gecko ever found in Bihar with physical traits. By studying its unique bumpy scales and ancient DNA, they are understanding India's geological history.
