Rare Philippine deer, believed to be extinct since 1990s, spotted

The Philippine brown deer has been spotted again on Marinduque island decades after it was believed extinct in the 1990s, the country's environment department reported. Calling it a “conservation milestone”, the agency stressed on the need for sustained efforts and partnerships to ensure its long-term survival. The animal was captured moving quietly through dark woods and breeding in the wild.
