Rare woolly bat recorded in India from Meghalaya

Scientists have recorded Titania’s woolly bat (Kerivoula titania) in India for the first time from the Khasi Hills of Meghalaya. Reported in Animal Taxonomy and Ecology, the find extends the species’ known range by nearly 500 km westward and raises India’s bat count to 137, highlighting the rich yet underexplored biodiversity of Northeast India.
