The Karni Mata Temple is a temple near Bikaner in Rajasthan where rats are worshipped. It houses about 20,000 black rats and a few white rats, believed to be the manifestations of Karni Mata and her sons. If a rat is killed, a gold or silver rat statue must be given to the temple.
