India began strongly at the ISSF World Championship in Cairo as Ravinder Singh clinched gold in the men's 50m pistol, while Olympian Elavenil Valarivan secured bronze in the women's 10m air rifle. The Indian team added two more medals, a silver in men's pistol and a bronze in women's rifle team events, on day one.
