Nikhil Ravishankar was subjected to alleged racist remarks on social media following his appointment as the first Indian-origin CEO of Air New Zealand. Several media firms of the island nation claimed that they had to disable comments section on social media after racist remarks targeting Ravishankar's ethnicity flooded their posts/accounts. Ravishankar will take over the role from October 20.
