The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has directed all banks to enable a remitter to verify the beneficiary bank account name before initiating a transaction using the RTGS or NEFT system. RBI has mandated RTGS/NEFT name verification by April 1, 2025. The new facility lets remitters verify beneficiary names with their account number and IFSC code.
