The RBI has recognised Sahamati as the Self-Regulatory Organisation (SRO) for India's Account Aggregator ecosystem. The move aims to create a formal industry-led governance model for consent-based financial data sharing. It will set operational and technical standards, promote interoperability, and help resolve disputes. The ecosystem currently has more than 1,100 regulated financial entities.
