RBI's plan to allow banks to sell their bad loans by turning them into tradable securities may attract foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) and private credit funds, Reuters reported. This permit will also "help deepen India's junk debt market". RBI had allowed for market-determined securitisation of stressed assets, exempting those bad loans whose repayments were on track.
