The RBI imposed a ₹61.95 lakh fine on Kotak Mahindra Bank for non-compliance of norms related to basic savings bank deposit accounts (BSBD), business correspondents and credit information companies. RBI probed the bank over financial position as on March 31, 2024 and found that it opened new BSBD accounts of certain customers who already held such accounts with the bank.
