Reading and writing may cut Alzheimer’s risk by 38%: Scientists

Scientists at the American Academy of Neurology found that mentally stimulating activities like reading, writing and learning new skills can slow cognitive decline, reducing Alzheimer’s risk by 38%. The study of 1,939 adults, with an average age of 80, showed those more intellectually engaged developed the disease about five years later than those with the lowest stimulation levels.
