WhatsApp banned a record 76.28 lakh accounts in India in February to combat harmful behaviour on the platform. Of these, 14.24 lakh accounts were banned before any user reported them, WhatsApp said in its monthly compliance report. The Meta-owned platform received 16,618 grievances in the month and took action on 22 of these reports.
