Record for the hottest temperature ever recorded in Canada broken with 46.6°C

The temperature in the village of Lytton, located in the southern interior of British Columbia, rose to 46.6°C, which is the hottest temperature ever recorded in Canada. A phenomenon known as heat dome is the cause behind the rise in temperatures, experts said. The previous record of 45°C was set in the central province of Saskatchewan in 1937.
