Reducing eating hours may protect cognitive function in old age

Reducing food intake to eight-nine hours per day compared to the usual eating window of 12 hours per day may help avoid cognitive decline as people age. A clinical trial suggested that older women who ate within shorter daily window performed better on planning and problem-solving tests. Avoiding food intake four hours before bed could also help protect cognitive function.
