Refrigerator prices may rise by up to 5% as the revised norms of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) have come into force from January 1. New norms mandate tightening the labelling and separate star labelling for freezers and refrigerator provisioning units of the frost-free models. Manufacturers feel the new norms may put an additional burden of 2-5% on consumers.
