Regular use of eyelash extensions linked to skin mites: Study

A study among young women who regularly have eyelash extensions has found that most have tiny mites, called Demodex folliculorum, living on their lashes. These mites can cause a painful skin condition called demodicosis. It also found that many of the women experienced eye irritation, while most had problems with the tiny glands, called meibomian glands, present near the eyelashes.
