Analyst Rohit Mehta said Reliance leads in scale with 18,700+ stores and Jio-backed expansion, while DMart excels in low-cost efficiency with 370+ large-format outlets. Reliance posted ₹84,171 crore Q1 revenue against DMart's ₹16,359 crore. With retail penetration at just 15%, both have room to grow.
