Tata group-owned Air India issued new guidelines on grooming for its male and female cabin crew, which stated, "Black and religious thread on wrist, neck and ankle are strictly not permitted." Religious rings with coloured stones and pearls, neck jewellery, along with thumb rings, are also not permitted. The airline also told the crew not to have grey hair.
