Remembering 1947: Sealdah to honour partition’s forgotten stories
In 1947, Sealdah Railway Station became a gateway for millions displaced by Partition, arriving with little more than memories, grief and hope for a new beginning. Today, a permanent memorial is being built at historic station to honour their suffering, resilience and courage, preserving the stories of those who endured one of history’s most painful chapters for generations to come.
