Major Akshay Girish was born to Wing Commander Girish Kumar (Retd) and Meghna Girish in 1985. His childhood dream was to don the uniform and serve the country, even when he was turned down by the Indian Air Force for his imperfect vision. He served in the Army across border regions and laid down his life for the country.
