The Centre on Friday issued notices to X (formerly Twitter), YouTube and Telegram to remove child sexual abuse material from their platforms in India. The government told the social media intermediaries that any delay in complying with the notices would result in the withdrawal of their "safe harbour" protection. The government also asked them to implement proactive measures.
