The Supreme Court has asked ex-Ranbaxy promoters Shivinder and Malvinder Singh how they plan to pay ₹3,500 crore they owe to Daiichi. When Shivinder claimed he has taken 'sanyas', the court said, "If you're renouncing the world, it may be good for you, not for us." Shivinder's lawyer then said his client "came back to the world in December 2017".
