Researchers at the Yale University have created a 3D view of the interior of cells that includes mitochondria, cellular power packs and nuclear membranes that envelope the DNA. The team, working with astronomy telescopes, recorded three-dimensional representations of 19 paternal and maternal mouse chromosomes by using coloured fluorescent tags attached to proteins that bind them together.
