Researchers from China, UK discovered world's oldest-ever stegosaurus fossil in China. Named Bashanosaurus primitivus, it lived 168 million years ago suggesting stegosaurus might have originated in Asia. With a length of 2.8 metres, Bashanosaurus had armour plates which were thicker, narrower than other stegosaurs but similar to those of first armoured dinosaurs that are over 20 million years old.
