Researchers identify new subtypes of fat cells in human body

Scientists at Ben Gurion University, as part of the Human Cell Atlas project, have identified new fat cell subtypes with specialized roles in inflammation, metabolism, and fibrosis. Using RNA mapping, they found unique fat cells in visceral fat linked to metabolic disorders. This breakthrough in Nature Genetics could pave the way for personalized obesity treatments.
