Researchers from the University of Michigan have revealed that the brain and the stock market have similar behaviours during a crisis, which are based on physics-based rules. The study found that phase transitions occur in the brain (during anaesthesia, when people lose and regain consciousness) and in financial markets (as they collapse and recover during economic crisis).
