Rice University's researchers have released a video showing how they transformed deceased spiders' legs into robotic gripping claws. They found that spiders extend their legs using hydraulic pressure, but lose this ability upon dying. Therefore, they attached a needle into dead spider's body, which allowed them to deliver a minute amount of air, turning the spider into a "necrobotic" gripper.
