Respect citizens' choice, change laws: SC to govt on terminating pregnancy of rape survivors

Supreme Court declined to entertain a curative plea filed by AIIMS against an earlier order to terminate the 31-week pregnancy of a 15-year-old child who had been raped. It said, "Doctors cannot decide for patients…we respect individual choices and so should the state." It urged government to change existing laws, saying, "When there's...pregnancy due to rape, there shouldn't be...time limit."
