Retired IAS officer Preeti Sudan has been appointed new Chairperson of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), with effect from 1st August, 2024. The 1983 batch officer served as Health Secretary of India between 2017 and 2020. President Droupadi Murmu accepted the resignation of Manoj Soni, who quit this month, five years before the end of his tenure, citing personal reasons.
