Retired Army officer revives 14 dry B'luru lakes using 1923 maps
Retired Army officer Captain Santosh Kumar used British-era maps from 1923 to trace Bengaluru's forgotten Raja Kaluves, ancient channels which carried rainwater from one lake to another. He found many were drying as they had been encroached upon, preventing rainwater from reaching lakes. He worked with residents and authorities and restored the channels, helping revive 14 lakes.
