Retirement age of central government doctors raised to 65yrs

The government has decided to increase the retirement age of central government doctors to 65 years from the current 60 years. As per the decision, doctors can hold administrative posts till 62 years and work in non-administrative roles thereafter. The decision is aimed at utilising the services of experienced doctors and improve the doctor-patient ratio in the country.
