Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting has been appointed Australia's assistant coach for the 2019 World Cup. The three-time World Cup-winning player had earlier worked as assistant coach for Australia T20I team in 2017 and 2018. Ponting's appointment comes a day after David Saker, who had been part of Australian set-up since 2016, quit the position.
