River basins across eastern India are on the boil

The Brahmani and Baitarani river basin is a landscape of rivers, forests, farms, mines, industries and growing towns. Satellite data from 2000 to 2022 show rising temperatures, expanding heat hotspots and increasing evapotranspiration across the Brahmani and Baitarani basins. These changes could affect water availability and highlight growing links between heat and water stress.
