A small river disappeared underneath rare frazil ice forming from Shannon Falls in Squamish, British Columbia in Canada. Frazil ice occurs when small, needle-like ice particles form in supercooled water, according to the Connecticut River Conservancy. Reacting to a video of the phenomenon that went viral, a user tweeted, "Wow!! I’ve never heard of that but that is seriously cool."
