River turns red due to 'mysterious pollutant' in Russia; pictures surface

Several pictures of a Russian river that has turned red have surfaced online. The environment officials said the red colour of the water in Iskitimka river in Kemerovo was due to a blocked drain, however, the chemical that caused the ominous discolouration is still under investigation. According to local reports, ducks refused to enter the river as it turned red.
