Riverine wetlands in Pune increasingly flourishing with invasive weeds: Study

Botanists Savita and Sanjaykumar Rahangdale have said that riverine wetlands within city limits of Pune have been found to be increasingly flourishing with invasive weeds, like hyacinth. "In the last decade...these invasive weeds have captured and expanded their area. This is mainly due to the rising pollution levels in...rivers," Sanjaykumar said. The duo conducted a nine year-long study.
