In a major setback to RJD, senior leader and ex-Bihar minister Shivchandra Ram quit the party after he was denied a ticket to contest the MLC elections. Announcing his decision, an emotional Ram broke down in tears and said, "May no one be given such a life...I haven't slept in four days." He alleged that he had been treated unfairly.
