US chipmaker Intel on Thursday named Robert Swan as the seventh Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in its 50-year history. The 58-year-old has been serving as Intel's interim CEO for seven months and as Chief Financial Officer since 2016. Swan's predecessor Brian Krzanich left the company after the board was informed that he had an affair with an employee.
