Roman emperor Nero won 1,808 events in a single ancient Olympic Games, a tournament he got rigged by threats and bribes. In chariot race, Nero entered the four-horse race with a team of 10 horses and was thrown from his chariot, but he was proclaimed the champion on the grounds that he would have won had he finished the race.
